Programme Manager - Water Use Efficiency in Industries and Built Environment
MP Ensystems Advisory Pvt. Ltd. is a niche energy and environmental sector consultancy based in Mumbai, in operation since 2012. We work in a policy advisory capacity in energy efficiency, renewable energy, clean transport, agriculture and other related fields. We work with the Government, private sector clients, multilateral financial institutions, philanthropies, academia, policy making institutions and civil society organizations to design, implement and evaluate solutions that promote sustainability. We have openings for the following positions.
About the Role / Position Purpose:
MP Ensystems Advisory Pvt. Ltd. is now appointing professionals with 10 to 15 years of design, engineering, project management, costing, implementation support expertise in the water sector. Specifically, candidates with direct experience of working for process industries; preferably textiles, dyes and chemicals, dairy and food processing industries, pharmaceuticals, fertilisers, pulp and paper, power sector; are the profiles that we are looking for. The position will report to the senior management team at MP Ensystems and shall be responsible for driving one or more of the following activities:
Key Responsibilities
Creating detailed process flow diagrams including water footprints of discrete and combinedcprocesses, mass balances, energy balances;
Promote circularity of resources, including water, energy (waste heat), chemicals to facilitate closed loop system resulting in reduced resource consumptions;
Create an informed benefit/cost analysis - setting targets for water/wastewater reuse, trajectory of reuse opportunities applying process optimisation techniques including PINCH optimisation applied to water as a vector;
Develop technology applications using membrane techniques working with specific membrane chemistries, low-cost/low-energy separation practices to develop options for fit-for-purpose reuse options inside the battery limits of any industry or across-industry reuse opportunities, also considering role of common effluent treatment facilities;
Develop water audit and process audit manuals specifically applicable to process industries;
Develop water footprint analysis for large urban water production to consumption and treatment to reuse opportunities targeted at reduced energy consumption per delivered bulk/retail water, also considering renewable energy opportunities in the city/municipal bulk water systems.
Selected candidates will have the opportunity to work on bilateral and multilateral banks/development agency-supported initiatives, foundations, global value-chains in South Asia, South East Asia, Middle East and Africa pursuant to MP Ensystems’ expansion plans.
Key Selection Criteria
Desired qualifications and industry experience: Basic engineering degree with a preference of Masters degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Textiles Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Production Engineering, Power Plant Engineering.
Candidates with direct experience of working in the core process management in the textiles, dyes and chemicals, pharmaceuticals, fertilisers, pulp and paper; and power sector would be given preference.
Good oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate issues, give presentations, and prepare formal written reports.
Self-motivated and organized; able to simultaneously work on multiple assignments and to work both independently as well as on teams.
Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

This is a Mumbai based position, other locations may be considered in case of exceptional candidates.
Travel requirement:
Around 50% during the first few months and much lesser subsequently- 25% on an average per month/year.
